Sports fans once again can enjoy the biggest athletic holiday in Hustopeče. The twenty-first year of Hustopečské Skákání started on Thursday, February 6th, with youth categories in which the eighty best athletes from the district of Břeclav, the South Moravian Region and other corners of the republiccompeted. Also, theathletesfrom Hustopeče did great and even won several most valuable medals and made many personal records.

The World High Jump Champions will come to Moravia once again

Once again, Hustopeče will become the venue of the High Jump Meeting Hustopečské Skákání Agrotec 2020 with the presence of the world’s best athletes. One of the goals of this event is to motivate children to do sports.Therefore, young athletes from Hustopeče were able to qualify for the Thursday’s(6th of February) competition of children and youth which will precede Saturday adult competition on 8th of February.

For the second time, the world record holder and world sports legend Javier Sotomayor from Cuba will be the guest of the international high jump competition at Hustopeče. This very nice and always smiling athlete was first in Hustopeče in 2011 and this year it will be his second visit to our town. Not only a great atmosphere of the competition awaits him, but also a welcome with the mayor of the town at the town hall and training with young athletes from Hustopeče.

At this year’s Hustopečské Skákání Agrotec 2020 will be present another High Jump legend. The former World Champion Inga Babakova is currently working as a coach of Austrian high jumpers who will compete in youth and B competitions.
