MEN B: BEER CONFIRMED HIS FORM AND TAKES GOLD

6.2.2022

Traditionally, the broadest starting field was offered by the Men B category. 24 jumpers from seven countries from Slovakia to Mexico attempted to beat the others. According to the personal bests, the Slovak Lukáš Beer had the best chance of winning, but even after the first attempts it was clear that the competition would be awesome.

The starting list started to shorten more significantly when 210 and 215 cm were set. None of the Czech competitors passed that, Lionel Strasser from Austria or Rory Dwoyer from Great Britain also dropped out. On the other hand, the favoured Lukáš Beer from Slovakia did great and eventually fought for the championship with the British duo Joel Khan and Lewis McGuire.

Lukáš jumped 218 on the first try, Joel on the second. For Lewis, this height was the last, so he came on the podium for the bronze medal.

Neither Beer nor Khan overcame the last set height of 221 cm, so the last valid jumps at 218 centimetres, which sent gold to Slovakia and silver to Great Britain, decided about the absolute winner.
